Erica Berger received her Masters in Social Work from the University of Maryland at Baltimore in 1993. She subsequently completed a 3-year intensive externship program in Marriage and Family Therapy at the Ackerman Institute for the Family in New York City. During her time at Ackerman, she was presented with the Carl Kempner award, recognizing her work with young families in which a parent was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Ms. Berger has provided therapy and therapeutic services to those affected by illness, disability, bereavement, family transitions, trauma, depression, anxiety and ADHD. Ms. Berger's experience also includes the provision of supervision and consultation to other clinicians, as well as presentations to community and professional groups on a variety of mental health topics.

 

Ms. Berger is currently licensed as an LICSW in the District of Columbia and an LCSW-C in Maryland. She is a member of the Greater Washington Society for Clinical Social Workers and the National Association for Social Workers.
